Special data in the personal cabinet

In the personal account there are pages with special data:

Each of these datasets is used for new service orders. In the order form it is possible to create the desired set of data without going from the form itself (data will be filled in the modal window). Of course, you can edit each of the available datasets, but the modified data will be applied to new orders. In old orders, it is either impossible to change contact details (in the case of SSL certificates), or it is possible only with the participation of our technical specialists (write to support@m-host.net ).

Next we will talk about how to view and edit special data in the interface of the personal account.

Contacts of domain names

You must be fully responsible for the use of the domain name. If your intentions are quite serious and you are ready for full legal responsibility with all the consequences, it is necessary to transfer to the accredited registration center your contact details as Owner, Administrator and Technical Contact. Usually, it is enough to specify the same person. Previously, this was done so that the domain owner or Administrator could be contacted promptly, but now, due to high spam, this data is hidden and used mainly by the Registrars themselves if they want to reach an unscrupulous recipient.

In the Domain Contacts section , you can create a new dataset by clicking the "+ Add new record" button.

The form is quite simple, all data should be filled in English, mandatory fields are marked with asterisks.

Name Servers

For the successful operation of the web-site, you should also prepare the names of the server (name-server, NS), which will "accept" the request for the domain name and process all DNS queries (A-records, MX, TXT, etc.).

All our servers provide the ability to create managed DNS records and accordingly have separate NS. It is not difficult to get your NS when ordering our hosting. Just open the details of the hosting order and NS will be written in the comments (otherwise - contact Support). Also, to get current NS, just log in to the VestaCP control panel (on the first screen, in the details of the profile will be highlighted in bold current NS).

You can also use the NS of any other hosting or DNS provider (eg cloudflare.com ).

In any case, the desired NS are stored in a separate list and when ordering a domain they should be selected.

Our web hosting tariff plans allow you to create WWW directories for several different domains at the same time (one tariff - several different sites).

That is, the algorithm is approximately as follows:

  1. You have purchased hosting at m-host.net .
  2. Got an NS server.
  3. Filled them out in a special form https://m-host.net/my/data/ns .
  4. When ordering multiple domains, select the same NS from the list.
  5. All domains send requests to one of our servers (according to the specified NS), where you have created managed DNS records that "accept" requests and various WWW directories.
  6. Requests sent to your domain "come" to our server and the answer is returned (site or mail works).

Read about NS and DNS separately on Wikipedia: https://uk.wikipedia.org/wiki/DNS-server .

SSL certificate data

Again, this data can be filled in directly at the stage of the order (in the modal window), you can view them in the list of special data. However, it is no longer possible to change this data after receiving the SSL certificate, because the encrypted text of the certificate already contains this previously specified data.

What is this data for?

The issuer of the SSL certificate must know certain information about the registrant and especially the domain name for which the certificate is issued.

The form is quite simple, all fields should be filled in English, mandatory fields are marked with asterisks.

In this form, everything is intuitive. The only thing worth mentioning is the country code. This should be a 2-character uppercase code, for example: UA, PL, BY, etc.
